A Tradition Since 1977

What began in a commitment for a safe environment of learning for youth professionals for grades 6 to 12 has continued to strive for excellence in education for nearly 5 decades.

Our Beginnings

Established as the Valley Professional School in San Fernando, California in 1977 almost instantly became synonymous with ushering quality, individualized education for young professional performers and athletes. Connecting students with rigorous, college preparatory level education at a pace that nurtured their professional careers quickly grew into the only place parents brought their working students to complete their educational path while reaching for their dreams.

By seeking out the most talented in credentialed teaching faculty and staff, maintaining a flexible schedule of conventional classes with tutoring, VPS established a reputation for compassion without sacrificing quality. Considered the original flexible school environment the administration strived to consider individualized attention in a quiet, safe atmosphere. As a result students flourished and success ignited their careers.

Strategy of Success

As VPS transitioned to new facilities and took on the name Cambridge School, their strategy proved successful not just for them, but for the students fortunate enough to enroll. Rather than working with on set tutors they were afforded a more traditional education and school experience. Over the years the school brought in and connected them with the specialties that would ultimately catapult them to stardom.

Expanding their staff beyond English, math, and history, they could choose to take a dance lesson, strengthening and conditioning class, or even exercise their audition and interview skills. The robust offerings allowed students to gain valuable insights that allowed them to build their confidence. Classes even included information specifically for their parents, setting up their entire family for success.

The Original School For Performers & Athletes

Prior to the Cambridge School or VPS students that wanted to reach their dreams of becoming a successful star or athlete were left to figure it out on their own. Often this left them without proper guidance or structure. The Cambridge School offered the original school where performers and athletes, their parents, and families, could have a school that worked with their schedules, needs, and direction. To this day, we maintain these commitments, and have often been looked to as a model for other schools to mold their programs against. As they try to continually model our unique formula, we continue to push forward, marking a path into the future of hybrid learning.
